About UsBeth Israel JMI is a Torah practicing congregation with a Hebrew Torah Institute for advance Torah learning. We celebrate all the biblical feasts, honor the Sabbath and believe in the practice of tikkun olam, the healing of the nations.
Embedded in Torah teaching is a tradition of spirituality; a vision from Hashem our God of well-being that is grounded in a fierce engagement with life; the importance of community, and a belief that sacred texts and spiritual practices can be relevant to today’s life style. It is both an intensely private experience and inextricably bound to the collective body of those who love God. In bringing healing to the planet we pray the Mi Shebeirach prayer. These comforting words can be said on behalf of those who are ill. Whether friends or loved ones are struggling with physical, emotional or spiritual challenges, this prayer speaks to our desire for their healing. Mi Shebeirach avoteinu v’imoteinu, Avraham Yitzchak v’Yaakov, Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel v’Lei-ah, hu y’vareich et [name] ben/bat [parents] baavur she-alah/she-altah lich’vod HaMakom, lich’vod haTorah. Bis’char zeh HaKadosh Baruch Hu yishm’reihu/yishm’rehah v’yatzileihu/v’yatzilehah mikol tzarah v’tzukah umikol nega umachalah, v’yishlach b’rachah v’hatzlachah v’chol maaseh yadav/yadeha, im kol Yisrael. V’nomar: Amen. May the one who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah, bless [name] son/daughter of [parents], since he/she has come up to the Torah in honor of God and Torah. May he/she merit from the Holy One of Blessing protection, rescue from any trouble or distress, and from any illness, minor or serious; may God send blessing and success in his/her every endeavor, together with all Israel, and let us say, Amen. At Beth Israel JMI we have created a spiritual atmosphere that relates to Torah and worship in the tradition of a Hebraic heart and soul where people from all walks of life and ethnicities feel they can worship the God of Israel in freedom. Our primary mission is encapsulated in the words “Esh HaTorah, "Fire of the Torah", or Igniting the fire of the Torah in a world of darkness.” |
What we believe |
·
We believe the Torah is inspired by
the Ruach Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit) and
is the infallible Word of Hashem, and that the final authority in faith
and conduct.
· We believe in one God, Hashem, the Creator of all things and man. · We love Hashem with all our heart, love Torah and love our fellow man and all three are as one. In other words these three cannot be separated. · Therefore everyone must know that If you want to have love of Hashem, it is not possible at all without love of Torah and love of your fellow man. · At the same time we are assured, that if we begin with love for our fellow man, it creates a vehicle to achieve deeper love of God. · We believe this world is beautiful and good but that it will take grit and determination. · We believe that through Shabbos (Sabbath) we have a chance to be holy. and like father Avraham we can know our mission through holiness, so that we like Avraham who called out to Hashem, that we may bring others to call out to Hashem our God, who is Torah and our salvation. · And that if it demands sacrifice that we do that to. · We believe that every true believer should ask himself, “When will my actions reach those of my father’s Avarham, Isaac and Yaacov? · We believe every true believer is commanded to have a love for the Jewish Nation, Torah, and the Land of Israel. For whatever Hashem our God loves, so must we love. · We believe we should look after the needs of the Jewish people as well as every needy person we can help. · We believe that God demands action from us otherwise we will never reach a lost world, for faith out works is no faith at all. · If we do these things our mission from Hashem our God will be in full force. · Greater powers require greater achievements. And the more we achieve the easier and better will our future be. · Loving our LORD our God with all our hearts, all our soul and all our strength which requires adding, and working, with greater strength and greater vigor. |
future plans |
To
build a Noach Community Center with
a 1200 seat auditorium, a BET SE-fer
tee-KHON (High School), home for SNN-NEWS
Network, holocaust Exhibit, Hebrew Roots Torah College, High Tech Youth Center
and the World Prayer Towers operation.
The world Prayer Towers operation will eventually be moved to Jerusalem, as will SNN-NEWS Network. Through our SNN-NEWS Network (Shalom News Network) television program we are making good progress in our effort to connect people to the land of Israel. SNN-NEWS in the state of Hawaii brings positive news from Israel. It is a one half hour program with the latest news of Israel together with news clips. It has received many high complements for it’s professional presentation, quality and substance. A major undertaking of Beth Israel JMI is the raising of prayer towers (literally) around the world to pray for Israel’s protection and the dismantling of the powers of darkness over nations. To date Beth Israel has raised world prayer towers and world prayer centers in ten (10) nations. |
